Tanyika Carey is an actress, improviser and voiceover artist. She fell in love with improv after taking her first class at Magnet Theater in 2010. She’s a five-time UCB Diversity Scholarship recipient and was also awarded a Magnet Theater Diversity Scholarship.  She trained extensively with Anthony Atamanuik, Keisha Zollar, Amey Goerlich, Louis Kornfeld and Peter McNerney, to name a few. Tanyika performed with the Magnet Theater house sketch teams Chillionaire and Gary from HR, the first all POC house sketch team in NYC. She was also a co-director for Remix—the Magnet Theater Diversity Sketch Program—and is a member of Cherub Improv, a volunteer short form improv troupe that performs and teaches improv comedy throughout the city.

Past credits include both national and international commercial/print campaigns and the comedic sketches, The Maternal Habitat, Mom Match and Inappropriate Mothering which aired on Nick Jr. and Nickmom.com. Other comedic credits include the shorts Mommy Heist, Nation in Crisis and the award winning short film, The Bill, produced by two-time Emmy winner Crystal Whaley.
